o 1978 - 2003: Modern Technique with Kitty Daniels,
faculty Washington State University and member of Bill Evans
Dance Co.; Fred Williams and Laura Glenn, former members of the Jose Limon Dance Co. NYC, and Katie
Stevenson-Nollet, Artistic Director of Full Force Dance Co,
Hartford,CT.
o 1978 - 1984: Ballet Technique with Ruth Benson
Levin, graduate of Adelphi University; Sam Kurkijan,
Co-Director of the Boston Repertory Ballet; Grant Strait,
Co-Director of National Ballets of Canada and Chris Gibson
Teacher at New Haven Ballet Co.
o Workshops with Miguel Lopez, former teacher at the
Alvin Aliey School in New York and co-Director of Philidanco
in Philadelphia.
o 1982 - 1984: Two year degree from the Hartford
Conservatory in Dance Pedagogy.
Performance:
o 1979 -1981: Halcyon Dance Co, Boston, MA.. Founded by
Consuelo Baraka Atlas, original member of the Alvin Ailey
Dance Co. Performed works of Alvin Ailey and Consuelo Atlas.
o 1982 - 1983: Connecticut Jazz Dance Co., Hartford, CT.. Founded by Karen Whitley. Performed works of Karen Whitley in concert
and for community service.
o 1983 - 2003: WORKS Contemporary Dance,
Hartford, CT.. Founded by Rob Kowalski and Ted Hershey both members of the (then)
Hartford Ballet. Founding member of the company in 1983.
With the death of Rob and Ted,
Laura Glenn of Julliard took over
the Artistic Directors position and maintains that position
now.
o Performed works of Adrienne Hawkins, Fred Williams, and
Kitty Daniels.
Choreography:
o 1985: Choreographed Trio for Real Art Ways
showcase.
o 1996: Choreographed the "Post Neo DaDa Dance Event and
Party" at the Colt Building in Hartford with Rebecca Lazier,
who is now the Artistic Director of Terrain, a Modern dance
company in New York City.
o 1998: Choreographed "4 on a raft" for a performance at
the ECA in New Haven and The Ted Hershey Marathon in
Hartford
o 1995 to present: Responsible for restaging WORKS
repertory. This has included pieces for The Hartford
Conservatory, Miss Porters School, and WORKS/Laura Glenn
Dance.
Teaching:
o 1984 - 1992: The Hartford Conservatory, Jazz and
Repertory ( performance) to Diploma Students.
o 1984-1986: Loomis Chaffe School, Jazz.
Administration:
o 1983 - 1990: Board Member, WOKRS Contemporary
Dance, Hartford, CT.. Treasurer from 1986-1990.
o Produced the "Post Neo Dada Dance Event and Party'
with Rebecca Lazier.
Other:
o 1998 to present: Intensive Yoga and meditation
workshops with Todd Norian, Sandra Summerfled-Kolzak and
Angela Farmer.
o Daily meditation practice.
o 2001 – 2005 Weekly modern dance class at Dance
Connecticut with Katie Stevenson-Nollet
