Kim Jonah has lived with many animals during her lifetime. Well Beings is evidence that they have finally convinced her to work with them.
As a child, she grew up with many cats, a Weimaraner named Fritz and several cows and chickens on her neighbor's farm. Her first exposure to the more professional world of animals was at age 10 when she joined the local Pony Club and, at 13, became the youngest C rated rider in the history of the Glastonbury CT Pony Club at that time.
Her path then took her on to College and beyond where she found the world of professional dance in Boston. She danced and taught for 20 years, ending up in Harford in 1983 to help found WORKS Contemporary Dance in Hartford, CT. With the death of the director and founder of WORKS, her life took another path which brought her to the world of computers and programming. This allowed her to flex the left side of her brain.
After being laid off in 2002, she did some soul searching and realized that her love and connection to animals had always been with her throughout all of the twists and turns of her life. It was the death of her beloved cat Tommy in 2003 that brought her closer to the real meaning of healing and its effects. This deepened her desire to work more closely with animals, so she earned certification in Canine Massage from Bancroft School of Massage in Worcester, Mass. as well as continuing education in CranioSacral therapy.
