JEDI, THE GERMAN SHEPHERD "Jedi, a German
Shepherd dog, slipped through an open stairway which
resulted in a back injury. After months of chiropractic and
aqua therapy, both of which helped, it was suggested that I
might consider CranioSacral therapy. Jedi had been wobbly
and unbalanced when going up and down stairs. After a few
CranioSacral sessions, he was walking visibly straighter
when negotiating the stairway and continues to maintain most
of that that balance today. Jedi also really enjoys his
sessions with Kim. So much so that he falls asleep at Kim's
caring and professional touch."
SPENCER, THE ENGLISH SPRINGER SPANIEL "Hi
Kim! I just wanted to tell you that for whatever reason -
you would know better than I would what it is – Spencer has
been great since our last visit. He has not limped or
favored his right or left leg at all. He is still going
downstairs hopping on both hind legs together. I can still
feel the clicking between his hip bones going up the stairs,
but as long as he is doing well, I am not going to worry
about it. I do not understand exactly what you do, but I
know you believe in it, and I have to say that (knock on
wood) Spencer is so much better from our visits to you, and
like a new dog since I met you at Jess’ and started with you
and the Chiropractor. I hope for him that this continues,
and I know that he didn’t seem to be as needing of help from
both of you as most of your other patients, but I am very
happy that I took your time with him – maybe(hopefully) the
rest of his life will be easier for it. It certainly seems
to be right now! Thanks Kim!. I think preventative
medicine(although you both did
help with the problems he was having) is the best medicine;
and I will never hesitate to get right on something in the
future if I can, so it doesn’t get any bigger than it has
to. Between you, me and Spencer, the biggest changes were
evident when you started the cranial sacral work on him –
like him using both back legs the very next morning going
down the stairs – and he has ever since! You are good, Kim!
Both Spencer and I appreciate you! Oh, and Spencer and Zac
send you kisses. –Sue Shaw
MARLEY,
THE PUG 9-19-06
Our nine year old pug was diagnosed with Rocky Mountain
Spotted Fever and Erlichia. Unfortunately he was in a
chronic state of illness with both of these diseases due to
constant misdiagnosis over a one and a half year period.
Once our new primary care veterinarian recognized his
symptoms, tested for a full tick panel, and put our pug on
antibiotics we began to search for alternative methods to
aide his transition from chronic disease to a full and
healthy recovery.
It was suggested to us that energy work can help an animal
recover faster, easier and return to a state of balance with
greater success than if left just on modern drug therapy.
After considering many alternatives and trying several we
found Kim Jonah, who performed Craniosacral work on our pug.
Kim explained that through this gentle, sensitive hands-on
bodywork, which has roots in osteopathy, the cranial skull
bones are jointed, and not truly fused, so they permit
slight motion independent of breathing and heart rate.
This motion is present in all tissues of the body and when
the body tissues are subjected to stress or trauma physical
or emotional, this motion can be disrupted resulting in
imbalance or disease. In our dog’s case, he had been thrown
off balance due to his chronic diseases and needed help
rebalancing.
The cranial wave or rhythm, Kim explained, can be described
as ever so minute, less than half the thickness of dental
paper, some say. It cannot be seen but it can be palpated
in a meditative state. To palpate this discreet rhythm, Kim
combined light finger pressure with use of her inner eye and
inner ear. The work draws from two disciplines; osteopathy
and energy work.. Once she determined where the restrictions
were located, Kim palpated tide-like motions and assisted
our dog’s body in releasing his stored injury and trauma
that had been built up due to his chronic illnesses.
The Craniosacral therapy that Kim performed helped restore
the vital motion and balance of our pug’s personal cranial
rhythm. We noticed that during therapy our dog seemed to
enjoy and react to Kim’s finger pressure, he changed his
breathing to a more relaxed state, became calm and
functionally accepting of her work. Immediately following
therapy we saw a significant imbalance in his gait and Kim
was kind enough to explain that this was his way of
realigning his body. After twenty-four hours our pug showed
increased energy levels, a steady balance in his gait was
straighter and stronger than it had been before. With each
session the results became more notable until we actually
saw his front paws go from a forty five degree angle
outward, to straight paws facing fully in front of him. The
results were quite unbelievable. We still continue to see
Kim, and she still continues to perform Craniosacral Therapy
on our pug, who is doing much better now and still in a
healing process, and will be for quite some time. Our
long-term plan is to continue this therapy and watch him
make a full recovery.
The body has an amazing capacity to heal itself. When an
animal is in balance emotionally and physically, they can
and will become healthy. Kim has been professional,
helpful, caring, concerned, and a wonderful support for us
during this most trying time. I would encourage anyone who
wishes to bring their pet into a fine energy balance for
optimal health to visit her, meet with her, and learn about
this therapy. It proves to have only a positive outcome
because the therapy itself that Kim offers comes from her
personal positive energy.
READ BOUT LOLA, THE COONHOUND "In July of 2002, Yola, my 7 year old coonhound twisted her foreleg while wrestling with my 2 year old retriever. I thought if I kept her quiet for a few days, shed mend. After a few weeks, I took her to the vet and she was put on anti-inflamatories and bed rest. By September she was still limping, but I did not have funds for x-rays, etc. I tried keeping her quiet, but in a household with multiple animals and lots of visiting pals, it had become nearly impossible to keep her form continually re-injuring her leg.
A friend of mine, Kim Jonah, suggested she use Consegrity on Yola. I readily accepted, since Kim had facilitated in healing a chronic problem of mine a year earlier. In her initial session with Yola, Kim learned that the cartilage in her shoulder had been damaged, which would not have shown up in x-rays. She was made aware that was treatable and she began a weekly regime with Yola. Some weeks Yola made it know that she was processing and didnt need a treatment. I continued to let Yola romp with her pals and go for walks and runs with us, unless Kim told me not to. Some weeks Yola needed rest. After a month, I noticed that she rarely limped, and within 2 more weeks, she stopped limping altogether. She is very active again and I have no doubts that it was through Consegrity that she was able to heal her injury."
